In a market where a majority of individuals and small businesses are uninsured and traditional insurance is out of reach, there was a crucial need to create affordable, accessible insurance solutions for managing substantial risks faced by individuals and small enterprises. We brought together several Zambian insurance companies to learn more about the market and build new micro-insurance products.
Solution
Collaborating with local insurance firms, we conducted field research, including interviews and empathetic engagement with potential customers, to deeply understand their risks and financial behaviors. We workshoped the creation of tailored microinsurance products designed to be financially accessible and operationally viable.
Result
Through field research and community engagement in Zambia, we applied human-centered design to develop practical and affordable microinsurance products. This process included in-depth interviews and prototyping, ensuring the solutions were well-tailored to the unique needs of the local market.
